Jean, Wongy and I went to the coast for a day, it was fun hanging out with Andy, Bennett and Alf!

We went to GoMa on Saturday to see the 21st Century exhibition, it was a pretty fun day, even with the horrid weather.

Today Jean and I went along to the RCR roller comp, we met up with Barney, Thorpe and Toop. Thorpe and Toop had never done a roller race and ended up getting second and third which was pretty awesome. Was good getting to see some people ride like hell and good to see everyone getting along. Quick little iPhone video of the races of Thorpe and Toop then the Final.

Life

Redic!

I love videos like this, just crazy circus style fun stuff. So much of it getting around but it’s great.

Zerner and I went fishing this arv, it was awesome. Well kinda awesome, ended up only catching one fish that was around 10cm big, I actually didn’t even know I had caught it until I wound it in and realized that my prawn was now a baby catfish. Where we went fishing was off a Canoe launch pontoon and it smelt like shit, but it was pretty nuts seeing how much water had been through the area. There was an old Mercedes that had almost completely gone underwater which seemed crazy seeing as it was right around the corner from where we used to live.

I haven’t posted anything for a long time, well a month and four days but still, I’m lazy. The last month has been a bit hectic with going home for Christmas with Jean, Ben and Zerna coming back to bris with me and then not being able to go home due to the floods for around two weeks, floods attacking Rockhampton then Brisbane and just other shit. So here is a unordered group of photos about my last month. Pretty much just photos of the yard at home, the dog, cedar creek, water, rainbows and awesome shirts.

Bikes

Slowbike

The other day I figured out how to use eBay, within a few hours I was battling people for bikes and then won a 1985 Repco Hotfoot. I pulled it apart and stripped the paint and have been sanding and repainting it, haven’t got any photos of it done yet but it’s pretty funny. It was good to see the half pipe actually getting some use.

Last night was the opening of Dropouts 2010, and also the release of the Laced .35 special. The plastic was ripped off the windows at 7 and there was a steady flow of people and beers from then on. It was mind blowing hearing some of the history behind some of the bikes and every little part that makes it what it is. With a pretty good selection of vintage and new school bikes, jerseys and other race history it was a pretty good night. Big ups to James for pretty much doing everything and his brother Christian for throwing up some real nice signage and a gnarly Vans wall piece. Also to everyone who brought along their prized possessions over the last week or so!

Seeing as everyone was taking photos all night, I didn’t. I just have photos from around 1pm when I was helping set up, so here are some behind the scenes photos ;)
